When considering the cost of a home inspection, remember to take into account the potential return on investment in relation to the cost of the inspection. All homes and properties have defects that may or may not be readily apparent to the buyer and even the seller (regardless of how long one may have occupied the property).
Most of my clients that I have spoken to after the inspection response have gotten well more than the cost of inspection from price adjustment of the home, closing costs negotiations, repairs to home, and just a little more ammo for your great Realtor to negotiate with prior to closing. My inspections generally start around $325 for a standard home on a slab with under 2000 square feet. Pricing can go up from there in consideration of square footage, age and condition of the home, outbuildings, multi-family units, duplexes, and inspection add-ons such as radon gas testing, well water sampling, termite inspection, septic system inspection and the like.
I am always willing to work within your budget. If my price seems high...try me, I'll always try to meet or beat any other seasoned pro home inspector around.
